Welcoming to The Steel Ibeam: At Wetzel's Corner

The Steel Ibeam has acquired an additional writer amongst its wall.  It has not yet been determined as to whether or not this will be a constant thing, but given the current circumstance regarding the attacks against III Arms and III Citadel, myself and another Patriot have united on The Steel Ibeam to enlighten the community and its readers.  To view any and all topics relating to Wetzel's Corner, follow the Sitemap as this will be your expedited route to Patriotic and Liberty based fulfillment.

Without further ado, I proudly present

At Wetzel's Corner

Crabs in a pot

Welcome to the first (and maybe only) installment of Wetzel’s Corner. A special Thank You to my brother Israel for allowing me space on his blog today.

I am a Husband, Father, and Patriot. I am also a Founding Member of III Arms.  I am a lurker on blogs for the most part; maybe I’d send Wirecutter a pic of a deer I shot, but by and large I keep to myself. Live and let live. If it doesn’t pick my pocket or break my leg, I truly do not care what anyone else in this world does.  What’s happening on other blogs is now directly affecting my investment.  So here are some questions and observations:

MBV and the Merry Band: Do you believe in redemption? I do. Sam got pinched and served his debt.  I forgive him, if you can’t you’d better do a gut check if you profess to be a Christian.
The things MBV confessed to having done in the name of Communism, if having been caught, would have made HIM a convicted felon. How do ya’ll out there in SipseyLand square with that?
All the fuss and negativity about something that you’re not involved in. How does it pick your pocket or break your leg? It doesn’t. That means you are involving yourself in something that’s none of your business, and are infringing on someone else’s Liberty. AND attempting to crash a fledgling FIREARMS manufacturer. Exactly what the Liberty movement stands for, eh?
Relying on handouts and government checks. Where does your hypocrisy end?

I can’t stand a hypocrite. Go fuck yourself.

There’s one commenter, I’ve read his posts on TL’s site as well as Sipsey- goes by the name of Tino.
Here’s a quote from a comment he made- “'I’m happy for Mike. He has done an excellent work exposing POS of all kinds. This Survival Blog's post ought to be the last nail in the Citadel IIIs (with Kerodin) coffin.”

Thanks for trying to drive a nail in forty Patriot’s investments. Asshole.

Tino- instead of casting aspersions, what have YOU done for Liberty? You say you’ve met both Simo Häyhä, AND Jeff Cooper. Mister Big World Traveler jetting to and from Finland and Arizona. I was in Mercer at TL’s Summit, where were you? Where were you when we were trying to pull together not in a virtual world, but in a real one? Heck, one patriot drove all the way from Montana to be there. That was TL’s effort, not Sam’s, surely you could have provided some support by showing up. Asshole.

All these posts and replies have one thing in common- and I think that it’s jealousy. Pure and simple. Thou Shall Not Covet. Try living with that paradigm, we’ll all be better off.

I’ve met Sam, looked him in the eye, shook his hand. Spoke with him. I’m a grown man, and can make my own decisions. Your advice regarding how I ought to not trust him due to his past is not welcome, nor appreciated.

I’ll bet most if not all the people blogging and commenting have never met the man, and cannot back up any of the claims they make about Sam’s character, other than the anecdotal ramblings of a Hypocrite or an Asshole.

Stay out of my business, and I’ll stay out of yours.
Lewis

Tino's not real bright, is he? He sent me an email using those exact same words, among others.
The USMC has been trying to break the 'dumbass Marine' image for 20 years, Tino just set them back another 50.

Excellent post, Lewis.

Wonder how long before Idaho DOJ picks this up?

Razor, I must admit I was on the fence to post your comment since I have never until the recent events in the III community seen you on the pages, but then I thought why not bring it to light. Let us break down the link accordingly and to those reading, should I waiver in fact, please correct me.

1) How realistic are the plans to build a more than 2,000 acre compound?
Answer: Well if you get enough people and follow the law, it should not be an issue. Is that not what III Arms and the III Citadel are doing? I mean correct me if I am wrong, but I see nothing that implies a threat to mankind for what is planned.

2) Neither the Honorable Sheriff Dave Resser or County Commissioners have had contact.
Answer: Yet. There are cogs working that eventually all key personnel will be contacted accordingly in a law abiding manner. It is part of moving forward.

3) On the internet, the group of survivalists explains their idea is to build an entire armed community to shield themselves from a possible economic collapse.
Answer: Sounds like "someone" gave the author wrong information to write the article. The idea of the III Citadel is more than just a walled bunch of Patriots. Sure there are caveats as seen on the III Citadel blog, however note the Schools, Bank, Tourist Visitor Center etc. Regardless as to whether this is truly to reside in Benewah County or not, as a county if there was a group of law abiding citizens flocking to the area in the name of Liberty bringing commerce and following the law, would you not want to see the county flourish? Would you not want to see free men and women and their families flourish?

4) Resser says he'd be cautious about sending in an application to live there, especially with a required more than $200 fee, if accepted.
Answer: Sounds like a logical statement for the Honorable Sheriff Dave Resser to make here. I mean if he has been quoted as saying neither he nor the County Commissioners have been contacted, how would he know of how the monetary portion of the project is being handled? If there is nothing unlawful happening, then I am sure the busy Sheriff has better things to do than to go through the III Blogs regarding this project to fact find every avenue regarding this project. Though I encourage him and everyone interested in III Arms or the III Citadel to educate themselves by directly contacting the III Community involved with these projects.

5) "My take would be if you've got $208 to throw away, go ahead and try it. I definitely would not look to get it back if they do not fulfill this project," Resser said.
Answer: Any and all applicants were told up front the situation regarding this. Kind of like myself being a III Arms Founder. I scraped up what I could for a project to facilitate the path of the III Citadel. Did I have the money at the time in August 2012? No. But I wrote a check, threw in some silver and sent it on its way for a cause I beleived in. I also donated to St. Judes, but dont know of anybody there. (Sarcasm implied, maybe we as adults should not donate anymore or invest?) I mean we are all adults and there is nothing hidden to anyone applying. If you feel that it’s throwing $208 away, then maybe the Citadel is not for you.

Continued Here due to character limitation in Blogger:

6) The sheriff does say they'd welcome more people to move to the county. He also says personally he doesn't have a problem with the extent to which the group intends to arm themselves, with all teenagers and adults carrying and showing proficiency with rifles and handguns.
Answer: Doesn't have a problem. Enough said.

7) "As long as they are law abiding citizens, we welcome anybody into the county who buys property and wants to share our rural lifestyle," Resser said. "But a project of this size and nature, the logistics are extreme, to say least. And... road access, power, sewage, none of these items have been approached or even talked about that I have seen."
Answer: Law abiding citizens. Enough said. Regardless of the hardships that are in the future for III Arms, III Citadel or any Patriot, unless you are part of the project, it is not for you to worry about. If anything, should you claim to be a Patriot, you should worry about how you can help. Should you be a person of faith, maybe pray for the health, wisdom and strength for those involved.

And lastly which was not part of the link, you Razor had stated that "Wonder how long before the Idaho DOJ picks this up?" That sounds to me like you or someone you know may have already initiated that into motion. Regardless, if this was truly a scam and/or malintent, I am sure III Arms, the Citadel and all of the Patriots involved would have more to deal with than Idaho's DOJ. Last I checked, since I am part of a group of trustworthy individuals that keep in posted, there are no laws being broken. Everything is being done as fast as it possibly can be while following the law.

Well said, Israel.

I read the article linked above, and the Sheriff was not only concise, but honest and fair. I wish the Liberty Movement could get that same treatment from the media and folks like "Razor". The Citadel website also has a caution for everyone who thinks about submitting an application.

By the way, Razor - Idaho is aware of everything being done, as is IRS and every LEO camped out looking into my life (They do that to guys like me). Members of the project will meet with not only Sheriff Resser when the time is right, but also the County.

One more thing - do you have the intellectual courage to admit when you are wrong? Nobody has ever, once, said that the current parcel in Benewah is the site of the larger project. There is no intention of ever trying to settle thousands of people in that area. Now, will you go back to all of the blogs you have spammed and correct the record?

Let's see if you have any intergrity...

Thanks for taking the time to run & respond to my post.
My point is mostly being missed on this citadel project.
Where your/their 20 acres is I went to yesterday on my snow machine. There is no other to get there other that a chopper. The citadel web page makes it sound like we have this glorious "mountain top" Where were going to be building our showcase. "wont you come & join us? Join how? no roads no water no sewer no phones no power no anything. for 4 months out of the year you cant even get to the property. So how can you honestly say come join us. Buy your spot on the mountain top & be safe. Its a fraud put together by a convicted extortionist. See any problems with that marketing plan?

Kerodin Nice to meet you.
I dont believe I ever said 1000's Its your web site that says all these wonderful attractions (our beachhead) will be "showcased" on this 20 acres? Can you tell me how you plan to get up there?

Razor, I understand that people such as yourself and others cannot imagine how a project of this magnitude could be pulled off. I get it. This is the story of Sisyphus in regards to what lies ahead. It is an uphill battle and dealing with negativity whilst following the law as well as dealing with the current AWB that will affect all gun owners is reality. We are not skewing reality or creating false hope. The people are real. Their missions and responsibilities are real. Those involved are husbands, wives, fathers, mothers that currently have jobs, while juggling this project. Yeah Sam may be the fulcrum, but the way this is set up does not have him at the helm. He knew the hardships ahead and the III Community took the initiative to run with what we all decided. To better ourselves and our future. Will I make it to Idaho? For me that is uncertain, but I will be damned if I will squash the dreams of people I do not know. God Bless them all. This is tough and it sucks, but it could be worse. I see what you are saying about the location. I get it. Anyone with Google Satellite can get the big picture, but what is so bad about this venture? Millions of people make investments everyday. I don't myself rushing to blog about those. Reason being I am not directly connected to them. This investment should it fail, which I doubt, was worth every penny I put in just to try. Because that Razor is what I was willing to sacrifice for the III Community. In time, I will see more of the III community. More than I did at the NC PatCon. I took my leap of faith because it was mine, not yours, to take. Its my money, my adult decision. Why it bothers you or anyone is beyond my comprehension.

Also, in the future, I would appreciate if you would refer to my friends by their names, not some title that I have seen elsewhere. Referring to my friend Sam as a "convicted extortionist" does not sit well for me. I have shown you respect, please show me the same by honoring my wishes here on The Steel Ibeam. I know who he is. I know what he has done. He has never hidden anything from me or others in my tribe. He served his debt to society, and I forgive him in the same light that Lewis has.

Thank you for your courtesy Razor, I do appreciate that. Your comment came through at the same time my response did. Being in IT, it would appear that the Blogger software has a issue with date/time. If I could answer your questions, I would gladly do so, I do not have all the answers. I am sure Sam and/or others will answer accordingly.

Razor, this is exactly the type of conduct appreciated in regards to this endeavor. I understand this being in your back yard and the complex road that is ahead seems unattainable. It is now more than ever we must unite and become the III as our Founders laid it out. The Jeffersonian mindset is our goal. With that goal and our determination we MUST succeed! It is imperative that we stay informed, take the time to listen and move forward. Those that get involved monetarily make a sacrifice. A leap of faith. We know the road. We must sacrifice and succeed where necessary.

Razor: The parcel has power 1 parcel away - a few hundred feet. Wells up there usually produce at 400 feet or so. A composting toilet handles the blackwater problem, and I am guaranteed the ground percs if we decided on a septic system. Greywater is easy.

That property is not intended to be anything but a beachhead - an administrative center and a showcase and a home for the first few businesses associated with the project.

Our intent is to begin developing the site in the spring. If we have a single caretaker up there with a tractor, he can plow the road, easily.

None of this is extraordinary. None of this is equal to getting to the moon. This is merely a semi-secluded parcel of beautiful property to be used by the project.

And you are incorrect about the area. People are living on that very mountain, right now. Not many, but they have found a way up and down even with snow.

But all of that is irrelevant to the larger Citadel project which you keep attacking.

Obviously any community as large as the Citadel would *have* to be in another part of the county, if it lands in Benewah at all. The folks in St. Maries would not want a community that close, and the Citadel wouldn't want to be that close to St. Maries.

The jobs that will come with this project are significant. That may not matter to you, but it sure matters to the people we have met in Benewah, and those who have emailed into the project and who are hopeful we decide to locate there permanantly.

But just because you don't want the Citadel in your county doesn't mean you are right in spreading lies about it. The website is very clear. And either you did not read it closely, or you choose not to represent it honestly.

I hope that will change.

Israel; good for you & your passion. My take on this whole III thing, (admittedly Ive only be watching and reading about it since JWR did a plug on the ciradel back in Nov.?)is that there are 8-10 III oriented blogs. All basically saying and doing the same things. Titty titty ass ass, fuck obama, and Jefferson is the man. Oh, and the constant bickering about who is the biggest, best, and first III guy. Whoopee doo. that's all fine and dandy. Doesn't hurt a soul.
My beef is with the citadel projects lack of honesty, openness, communication etc. let me explain...
Take the recent thread on the citadel blog "Breathe" "We are not going to be answering anymore question at this or allowing new comments" However the Paypal window still stays open. Taking peoples money for a HUGE development with no office, no spokesperson, no phone, no fax, no email, no blueprints, no permits, no ETA, no environmental impact report, No anything except a paypal tab. All the while claiming were getting ready to start up this summer building our model showcase of condos, houses, arms plant (i'll touch on that in a minute) "Benewah county's unemployment will plummet". "dont be left out reserve your spot now?
Does anyone in your III group realize how many millions of dollars it will take just to get the engineering, environmental impact reports, architects, permits, and on and on... that's before one 2x4 is bought. All of which will be financed by sell 2 types of guns? An AR, which is impossible to come by now and a 1911. Im guessing 1911 frames are still around. AR uppers & lowers we all know the story on those items.
Can you see my concern for people. When I questioned the citadel blog people about it. I was told to mind my own business, I don't have any skin in the game, rightful liberty etc. Makes me wonder hmmm what are they up to.

Razor, I did not see the "fuck you" comment to post until today. So in response from my perspective, it is like this. I cannot and will not judge you or any other person. That is God's job, not mine. As for name calling, it is what it is unfortunately. Sometimes ignorance in not knowing what ticks makes us say or do things that are considered and attack. When you are as passionate as I am or others with time and money invested into a future prospect, it is only human nature for us to retaliate. I try to remain diplomatic in my course and give certain people the benefit of the doubt. My philosophy is simple. Screw me once, shame on you, you wont get the second time to do so. I or anyone involved in this project do not have the time or luxury to constantly stop at every speed bump in the project to deal with naysayers. Believe me, there have been a lot of naysayers, but on the other side of the coin there have also been a lot of new positive faces that came into the picture.

Looking back at this post, the bottom line as I see it is this. You live there. We have 20 acres acquired there with nothing on it. We are accepting applications to a plot of land that has nothing on it. Seem hokey? Well it depends on the representation. If people are listening to negative attacks such as Mike V., then I could see how they could fall under false premise. Everyone applying knows up front what may or may not happen. Sam's post regarding "Breathe" is simply telling everyone to not panic. We must remain positive and focused and just breathe. This is not a time to run around like a chicken with our head cut off. Times are changing and we are planning and working diligently to move forward. We cannot sit and allow what so many are working for to become stagnate. There are many III bloggers, like you mentioned, that are affiliated with parts of this project. We all have our part to do as a collective. Not one person has all the answers. So if you are curious, or need information, being polite and courteous as you have shown me, will get you somewhere. However, as a code of conduct to the whole that is involved, well I have to stand by those that stand by me.
